When it comes to emptying your septic tank, the job may seem overwhelming and difficult. There are a series of steps that every cesspool pumper follows to get the job done. Here is a step-by-step process of how a septic tank is emptied.
You first have to find the tank itself in the customer’s yard. Usually, they will have some idea of where it is and can point it out to you. The tank is usually only buried a few feet deep. After the tank has been found, you have to find the lid on the top of the tank and remove it. If the customer has already dug it out, it should be fairly easy to find, plus the customer is typically given a discount for doing this.
After the lid is removed, a pump is run from the truck and into the tank, clearing out the waste. All solids are typically removed from the tank, and the tank is checked to make sure all components are working properly.
Emptying a septic tank is a fairly straightforward process. It’s something that homeowners should try to stay on top of and be aware of. Check out the video on this page for a more detailed process.
