If you have cracks in your driveway and want to find a good way to seal them, asphalt or blacktop sealer is a great solution! This is a simple process that anyone can do on a nice day.
Firstly, you need to make sure that your driveway is washed and cleaned up. Spray water all over your driveway to get any dust or debris to fall down into the road.
Then blow all of the leftover debris that could be stuck in the cracks with a powerful blower. This can help the blacktop sealer look smooth and not have anything hidden underneath it.
A pair of gloves is a great thing to use, so you don’t get any blacktop sealer on your hands, staining them for a few days. In the video, Peter uses a painters trowel, but says that any tool with a straight edge works just fine. Put the blacktop sealer on the cracks that need repairing and make sure the blacktop sealer is even with the driveway, smoothing it out.
It’s okay if you fill up the crack too much. It will just look a little different from the rest of the driveway.
Let it dry and see your brand new driveway!
