With so many options to choose from, picking the right home builder for you can be confusing. Asking the following questions to home builders will help you decide.
Are they a member of their local home builders association? If they are not this can be a red flag. If they are in the process of getting in, it could mean they haven’t had a lot of experience home building yet.
Do they have general liability insurance? You don’t want your homeowners’ insurance paying if something goes wrong while a home builder is working.
Do they have a track record of building quality homes? This is one of the most important questions to ask. You want someone experienced in building quality homes, not someone who has only built one or two.
Do they have a safety program in place? Most home builders have specially designed safety programs to avoid injuries on the job. No injuries mean a faster and cheaper build.
Are they a member of a new home warranty program? You want to know that you are able to get your money back if the work is not up to your standards. If they are not, you could get stuck with costly repairs yourself.
