In 2011, 30 percent of men 12 and older and 13.9 percent of women reported binge drinking in the past month. For a lot of people, treating alcoholism can be a serious problem. Treatment centers provide things like counseling and help with trying to treat the problems, but at the end of the day, only the person with the addiction problems can get over the addiction problems.

Drug detox is the first step in a process of recovery from addiction. For many people who have an addiction rehab is the first major step to getting sober. Whether they are there for an alcohol treatment program or a cocaine addiction treatment, there are three steps involved in the process of detox. They are evaluation, stabilization and transfer into a treatment program.

If a patient is addicted to opioid drugs, going cold turkey at rehab detox centers is not a good idea, because it can lead to relapse or medical problems. Drug related hospitalizations and visits to emergency rooms were up 116 percent in the age group of 55 to 64 from 2004 to 2010.

I dont know why, but I cant help but think of Amy Winehouse. If anyone had to go to rehab, it was her and I dont think she ended up going. Maybe it could have saved her, but maybe it can teach other people as well.

I have worked as a drug counselor for a bunch of years, and I believe addiction is a disease. You have to really want to get sober and get help from a lot of people, and the addiction is always still there.
